Jamie discovered her passion for experiential learning working as a camp counselor for children with disabilities and as a volunteer with the Veteran’s Administration. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation and studio art from Temple University before earning her national certifications in recreation therapy and yoga. She spent several years serving active duty military service members in psychiatric and substance use settings before earning her master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Prescott College where she specialized in addictions. Jamie has completed training for her Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing certification from EMDRIA and is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in the state of Florida. Additionally, she is trained to facilitate a wide variety of therapeutic modalities including tai-chi, qigong, reiki, Yoga for 12 Step Recovery, and aquatics. She has specialized experience treating behavioral addictions (such as codependency and eating disorders) and believes in including families in the treatment process. She enjoys implementing the adventure program where she records and analyzes outcome data of nature-based, cultural, arts, and community service initiatives.
